Group Senior Financial Compliance Specialist - ECCO HQ, Bredebro

Do you want to strengthen financial governance in a global company where quality, craftsmanship and responsibility matter?
In this role, you will help shape how ECCO identifies, manages and mitigates financial risk across the Group and ensure high standards in a complex, international set-up.

You set the direction for financial compliance and risk management
Based at ECCO HQ in Bredebro, you will be part of Group Financial Controlling and Reporting. You will become part of and take the lead of a specialized internal controlling team, with a focus on ensuring financial compliance across the ECCO Regions. You will work closely with colleagues in Finance, External Reporting and ESG Reporting and engage with stakeholders throughout the organisation.

You will spend most of your time at HQ, with regular travel to group companies as a natural part of the job. The position allows for flexibility, with a working setup that supports collaboration at the office alongside individual needs. Within your first years, your contribution will be visible through a stronger, more systematic compliance framework and improved risk awareness across ECCO.

More specifically, you will be:

  • Planning and executing risk based internal controlling engagements, from scoping to reporting and follow up
  • Assessing the design and operating effectiveness of internal controls, governance processes, and risk management practices
  • Contributing to the development of the Internal Controlling methodology, planning, and risk assessment processes
  • Reporting audit findings clearly and constructively, with a focus on root causes and practical improvements
  • Following up on management actions and monitoring remediation of audit findings
  • Acting as a trusted professional partner while maintaining independence and objectivity

You join a specialised and collaborative finance environment
The Group Financial Controlling and Reporting department is a small, specialised team within Finance, characterised by professionalism, trust and a constructive dialogue. We value curiosity, high standards and collaboration across functions and cultures. There is room to influence how we work and to develop your role over time while being part of ECCO’s extended family.

You bring strong expertise and a pragmatic mindset
To succeed in this role, we imagine that you bring several of the following:

  • A master’s degree in accounting, auditing or finance
  • At least 5 years of experience from internal or external audit or a similar global corporate role
  • Solid experience with financial risk assessment, internal controls and data assurance
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to engage and influence diverse stakeholders
  • Fluency in English and experience working with ERP systems and MS Office

We know that most won’t tick every box. If this role motivates you and you see yourself growing into the responsibilities, we encourage you to apply.
