Insurance Manager - ECCO HQ, Bredebro
Drive a strong risk transfer setup for a global company.
ECCO is looking for an Insurance Manager to drive our global insurance program - and our Danish commercial insurance program (excluding pension and other personnel-related insurances) - and lead key decisions on coverage, cost and insurance related risk.
From our HQ in Bredebro, you will be the main link to brokers and insurers and play a central role in renewals, claims and governance, strengthening ECCO’s financial resilience and supporting senior decision-making.
You will shape our global insurance setup
As Insurance Manager, you will be responsible for the full insurance lifecycle and make sure ECCO’s risk transfer setup is effective, well‑governed and value‑creating. Success in the role is reflected in timely renewals with approved coverage and budget, strong claims recovery, and audit-ready documentation with no uninsured gaps.
You will:
- Drive ECCO’s global insurance programme (design, placements, renewals and governance) with a focus on coverage and cost effectiveness.
- Drive the Danish commercial insurance programme and ensure alignment with the global setup.
- Own the annual renewal cycle end‑to‑end, including exposure collection, underwriting submissions, market engagement, negotiation and approvals.
- Lead claims management and recovery across relevant lines, including notifications, documentation, dialogue and settlement follow‑up.
- Act as ECCO’s insurance competency and central partner to Finance, Legal, Operations, Supply Chain, IT, HR and regional stakeholders.
You will also manage broker and insurer performance, ensure policy documentation and compliance (wordings, endorsements, exclusions, certificates), deliver executive‑level insights on premiums, claims and coverage gaps, and contribute to the development of ECCO’s risk‑transfer strategy, including retentions, deductibles and optimisation opportunities. Continuous improvement of insurance‑related processes and ECCO’s total cost of risk will be an expected part of the role.
You bring expertise, structure and sound judgement
You combine strong insurance fundamentals with the ability to drive outcomes across stakeholders and geographies. You are comfortable navigating complexity and translating analysis into actions.
You bring:
- 5+ years of experience in corporate insurance, risk transfer, brokerage or an insurer.
- Proven experience managing global insurance programmes and renewals, including negotiation and stakeholder coordination.
- Hands‑on claims management experience across documentation, negotiation, recovery and follow‑up.
- Solid understanding of typical corporate lines such as Property & Business Interruption, Liability, Cargo/Transit, D&O, Cyber, Crime and Business Travel, and Workers’ Compensation where relevant.
- Strong analytical, communication and presentation skills, including Executive‑ready material (PowerPoint) and data work (Excel/BI tools).
You are structured, detail‑oriented and exercise calm judgement, including in incident or escalation situations. You hold a relevant degree (e.g., Insurance, Finance, Business Administration, Economics, Law or Risk Management) or equivalent experience, ideally complemented by a relevant certification (e.g., RIMS, RIMAP). Professional proficiency in English is required.
You can expect trust, influence and collaboration
You will take ownership of a global insurance programme with high visibility and broad interaction across stakeholders, working within Business Resilience in Group Finance, where you will have strong opportunities for impact and influence. You can expect a pragmatic and trust‑based working culture characterised by close cross‑functional collaboration, as well as a meaningful and multicultural workplace that offers opportunities for professional development. The role also includes some international travel as part of your responsibilities.
