Pattern Engineer - ECCO HQ, Bredebro
Do you want to turn design intent into precise, production-ready shoe patterns that shape the footwear of tomorrow?
As our new Pattern Engineer, you will play a central role in transforming early design ideas into accurate 2D CAD constructions that meet ECCO’s high standards of craftsmanship, quality and innovation. Your work ensures smooth development flow, clear documentation and strong alignment across several expert teams within Global Development & Engineering.
You will become part of our Global Development & Engineering located in Bredebro where we have technical development, pilot production and mould making in house. This allows you to dive into the world of DIP and discoveries new technologies together with colleagues from across Global Development & Engineering and the rest of ECCO.
Create precise patterns that bring our designs to life
In this position, you will engineer detailed 2D CAD upper constructions and prepare key pattern engineering that enables colleagues across Design, Pilot and Range Building to move efficiently from concept to production. You will work with a high degree of independence yet closely connected to a broad network of specialists who rely on your structured handovers and technical guidance.
Your tasks include:
- Constructing detailed upper patterns and creating or approving last copies in line with ECCO’s 2D constructional standards.
- Preparing Upper technical package such as substance drawings, frontpage, ground model approval and concept style approval with Fit approval.
- Ensuring accurate documentation and clear handovers throughout the development flow.
- Working independently in your area of responsibility while maintaining clear communication and timely escalation where needed.
- Compiling and uploading full technical packages into our PLM system with a high level of data accuracy.

We imagine that you bring:
- A background in pattern engineering or a technical constructor education.
- Ideally a Certificate as Technical Constructor or a similar technical background with interest in footwear.
- 2–3 years of experience as a 2D Pattern engineer.
- Strong attention to detail and a structured approach to documentation and handovers.
- The ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders across design, engineering and production.
